I am a writer and musician living in Derbyshire with my family. As a Welsh speaker I teach a number of evening classes and workshops locally with Derby Welsh Learners Circle, helping those who wish to speak the language. Though this blog is in English, you’re more than welcome to leave comments or get in touch through the medium of Welsh. Croeso i chi ddefnyddio’r Gymraeg yma!
A lot of my work takes place in Christ Church, Belper where you can find me directing the parish choir and occasionally playing the organ. I’m also organist at All Saints, Turnditch. I work with RSCM Derbyshire to help promote church music locally and am delighted to have the opportunity to pass on such a beautiful part of our heritage to young people in particular.
When I’m not working in music or Welsh, you will find me writing. After finishing my novel, Jude, which is doing the submission rounds, I am now stretching my wings a bit. I have had a little success in poetry as overall winner of the Whispers of War competition run by Feelgood Theatre, and short fiction, winning one of Faber Academy’s Quickfic competitions. I have just finished writing a play and am now pressing on with my second novel.
